On August 4, 2018 the Simmesport High School Mega Reunion took place at the former SHS Gymnasium. Over 700 alumni, teachers and spouses turned out to celebrate their time at Simmesport High School. 2018 marks the last year Simmesport High was open. Decades represented were from the 1940’s the 80’s. This was a monumental event and a glowing example of how Eagle Pride never dies. Special thanks to former teacher and last principal Mr. Kirk Guidry and alumni Patra Coco for spearheading this event and turning a dream into a reality. If there was one fundamental lesson from our days at SHS it was that creation is an act of will. We hope to continue this tradition as long as there are SHS alumni in this world.

2017

Town of Simmesport Council Meeting: The next regularly scheduled town council meeting is on November 9, 2017 at 6 PM.

3rd Annual VFW Car Show: on September 9, 2017, the Simmesport VFW held their third annual car show at the Simmesport Memorial Park. There were rides and games for the kids, food and drinks and awesome cars. The Mayor’s Trophy went to the Dupuy family for their fully restored 1963 Ford Falcon.
