Water Department
Mr. Charles Carter is the head of the Simmesport Water Department and is assisted by Mr. Kevin Gates. All of the water lines, fire hydrants and water meters have to be serviced and maintained. In addition, the water department is responsible for adding chlorination and fluoride to the water system in accordance with state and federal regulations. The water has to be sampled regularly and sent to the State for testing. Water is pumped up from the town wells to the water tower to be used by citizens and businesses.
